Review:
2009 Vintage Wine Advocate - 90 points - The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley was sourced mainly from the excellent Phinny Hill Vineyard and was blended with small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The aromatics are reticent but do offer up notes of spice box, cedar, and black fruits. In the glass it displays good depth of flavor, excellent balance, and a lengthy finish. - Jay Miller
A hot, hot winery for good reason, their tiny tasting room in a remote section of the town of Walla Walla is sought out and packed with people when they are open.
The Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a big, dark, powerful wine. Jon Bonne of the San Francisco Chronicle named it one of his top eleven Washington reds from the 2008 vintage (April 2011). We concur with his take on the wine - winemaker Greg Harrington used new oak in just the right way - to add a fillip of sophistication. The 2008 Cab is a structured wine with fine tannins, pleasant to drink now but with aging potential for 4-8 years. Greg Harrington's skills as a Master Sommelier show through in the wine's way of complementing and enhance fine dining. - Jean
