2010 Vintage Wine Advocate - 91 points - The Gramercy 2010 L’Idiot du Village is 80% Syrah – largely from The Rocks, south of Walla Walla Walla, and around two-thirds de-stemmed – with 12% Mourvedre and 4% each of Grenache and Cinsault. Cocoa powder, roasted red meat, bay laurel, and ripe plum evoke for me more of a sense of Mourvedre than that grape’s statistical presence in the blend would suggest. A lovely hint of violet emerges more strongly with airing. The sustained finish here boasts saliva-inducing salinity and savor of pan scrapings. I imagine this will remain delightful for at least the next half dozen years. - David Schildknecht
