Review: Elegant, with rich red cherry flavors and classic Pommard clone round, sweet spice. Made from two south facing blocks of the Zenith Vineyard (St. Innocent's estate vineyard). 87.5% of this blend is Pommard clone Pinot Noir, 12.5% is Dijon 777 clone. 75 cases produced.
2009 Vintage The Zenith is all about prettiness and elegance. That said, this wine is no lightweight. It has great concentration and texture. The nose is full of red cherries and strawberry with graham crackers and cinnamon. The palate is lush and broad with loads of sweet red cherry highlighted by some savory spices (thanks to 20% whole cluster fermentation). There are a lot of highly polished textured tannins in this wine that hold it nicely to a fruity and spicy finish. This wine will age well, but it should be consumed within 8 years. - The winery |
