Review:

Purity of fruit reigns here. A scent of raspberry perfume spills out of the glass to accentuate the flavors of fresh berries, earth, and herbs. The perfume of the wine adds interest to a silky textured, juicy finish. This wine has me craving poached salmon with a lemon Hollandaise sauce, a big salad and a warm summer day, poolside. - Jean

Like a couple recent favorite values (Et Fille and Whistling Dog) I knew Grochau's 2010 Willamette Valley was going to be great - I just had to wait! Abundant, cinnamon-spiced red fruit on the nose leads to a rich mouthful of dark cherry and raspberry, with great depth and sweet Pinot goodness on the finish. - Marcus

The nose is full of bright red raspberries, cherries and plums along with sweet spices, toasted bread and a touch of herbs. The palate is full of bright red fruits on entry, turning darker; the mid palate is textured and rich, showing the darker side of the fruit along with some savory nuance. The finish shows a balance of texturing tannin bright acid and rich red fruits. - John

It's simple: this is great juice! A great Tuesday night Pinot, Grochau's Willamette Valley gushes with cherry, plum, and spicy red currant. It is easy drinking and approachable now. - Marcus

2008 Vintage Tasting Notes

Nose of dusty black and red cherries with sarsaparilla. On the palate there is a spectrum of cherries from bright Rainier to Bing to Black cherries with earth and tea notes. The tannins are abundant adding texture and structure to the long sweet finish.

2007 Vintage Tasting Notes

It is said that wine is made in the vineyard. Because we purchase our grapes from several vineyard sources, we are able to tap into a variety of soils and micro-climates. This diversity not only offers us many pieces to the puzzle when it comes to blending our wines, it also gives us consistent quality and style each year. Hands off wine making, accentual use of oak, and limited extraction are hallmarks of our style. - the winery
