Review:
2012 vintage has scent and flavors of lemon zest, grapefruit, crisp yellow apple, chamomile and a hint of dried hay. 100% Red Mountain fruit, from the spectacular Klipsun Vineyard.
2009 Vintage Tasting Notes
A crisp, bright and lovely Sauvignon Blanc that makes you dream of lazy summer afternoons on the porch. For 2009, we used a blend of fruit from Klipsun Vineyard on Red Mountain and Spring Creek Vineyard, just down the road from Red Mountain, to create a pale straw-colored beauty that exudes notes of green apple, grapefruit, grass and a hint of honey.
Guardian's 100% Sauvignon Blanc spent seven weeks in new French oak before transferring to stainless steel, a method that adds a hint of weight and creaminess to the clean acid flavors.
The winery says: "Everybody needs a Guardian Angel and we're pouring yours in a glass. Angel, which is 100% Sauvignon Blanc from Stillwater Creek Vineyard, has a nose of bright citrus notes. It was barrel fermented, to add a hint of weight to the clean acid flavors without adding an oaky taste. This wine will easily make you long for those lazy summer days that stretch on without a drop of rain in sight."
