Review:
Chalkline is one of Washington's best everyday red blends. Blended to be the perfect drinker, it gushes with velvety black and red fruits accented by mellow oak and dark chocolate notes. Want your friends to think you splurged on a fancy bottle? Crack a Chalkline for them and keep the price a secret. - Marcus
The 2010 blend is different: 29% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, 19% Syrah, 12% Cabernet Franc, 10% Malbec and 1% Petit Verdot. The fruit was sourced from six vineyards: Connor Lee, Ciel du Cheval, Stone Tree, Obelisco, Stillwater Creek, and Klipsun, all in the Columbia AVA. Aged 17 months in 45% new French oak.

2008 Vintage Tasting Notes
"Our 2008 Chalk Line is no wall flower. To make the newest vintage of our wildly popular table wine, we combine 31% Cabernet, 27% Syrah, 21% Merlot, and 21% Cabernet Franc- we call it a little bit of love from all of our vineyards. Our newest Chalk Line is easily the most luxurious table wine you will come across in the state of Washington. We barrel-age for 17 months in new French oak to create a wine that exudes notes of bursting red fruit, leather, earth, and spice- it is structured on the palate, with notes of dark chocolate, warm caramel, and a persistent finish."

Owner and winemaker Jerry Reiner calls Chalk Line his "kitchen sink wine".
Chalk Line contains a little of just about every lot he brought in. The nose on the 336% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Syrah, 16% Cabernet Franc and 19% Merlot blend has big black and red fruits with a little smoke and spice.
Flavors of red and black cherries with black raspberries lead to a long silky finish. This wine was made to be very approachable at a young age. You can age this wine, but it's not necessary.
