2006 Vintage Tasting Notes
The Holloran Le Pavillon Vineyard Dundee Hills Oregon Riesling 06 received two and a half stars from the San Francisco Chronicle, who said: "More honeycomb than its sibling, plus some petrol and mineral aromas; similar flavors with crisp lemon and a stony, grippy finish. Very limited availability. "
The Holloran Le Pavillon single vineyard Riesling shows off with glorious aromas of tangerine, ginger, and cantaloupe that unfold on the palate. The wine expresses great focus with mouth-watering vibrancy of fruit and delicate sweetness with refreshing acidity. Citrus and kiwi flavors give way to a clean fresh finish of burbling mountain spring water and minerals.
Jay Christopher (J Christopher Wines) makes Holloran wines at the same winery, with the same grape sources as his J Christopher bottlings. The Holloran family owns the winery and that's their deal - he makes their wines as well as his own. So if there's no J Christopher in stock, try the Holloran wines, or the Stafford Hill, another label Jay bottles wines under at the same location.
