Canadian ice wine is referred to as "Nectar of the Gods." This sampler has one bottle of three different Canadian ice wines. Made in the classic style, the grapes are picked at dawn while they are frozen on the vine. These are true ice wines.

Simply exquisite, the 187 ml bottle is a wonderful size for gift giving. The wine has rich tropical aromas of papaya, mango and apricot. Bold fruit flavors balanced with fine acidity caress the palate and conclude with an exquisite silky finish. Serve slightly chilled on its own, with fresh fruit, foie gras, rich pate or a selection of fine cheeses.

1 bottle - Mission Hill Five Vineyard Riesling Ice wine 187 ml $24.95

Classic sweet-tart Icewine, with an exhilarating blast of ripe Bartlett pear as the main theme. The lively, citrus-driven structure cleanses the palate and provides a counterpoint for the decadent sweetness. Vibrant and long on the finish, with a mouth-watering citrus aftertaste.

Oh my oh my. Just amazing.

My very favorite ice wine in the world is the Inniskillin Sparkling Riesling Ice Wine. It is ice wine at its best in a sparkling champagne style.

Aromas of honeysuckle and jasmine and flavors of fresh lime, apricot, grapefruit, peach blossoms and peach cobbler. Sweet and incredibly rich, but the sparkle and a skooch of tart citrus keep it refreshing. It's so hard to restrain myself and stop refilling the glass. Unforgettable. - Jean
