Review:

"GROO-ner FELT-lee-ner" is traditionally made in Austria; Lowell has been growing this obscure white grape for nearly thirty years, and the 2011 vintage is one of his all-time favorites. The nose has flavors of almonds and green apple, while the palate delivers flavors of honeydew, cantaloupe, and homemade ambrosia. Our favorite food pairing for the grüner is fresh oysters. 300 cases produced - the winery

2011 Vintage

Aromas and flavors include grapefruit, honey, white pepper and radish. It is a dry wine in the restrained style that is typical of its name.

2009 Vintage Tasting Notes

2009 Wine Enthusiast - 90 points - Why not an Oregon Grüner? With its nuanced aromas trailing flint and smoke through a core of grapefruit, pineapple and melon, this is a welcome warm weather wine. Just 12.5% alcohol, a solid midpalate and a hint of vanilla cookie in the lingering finish. — P.G.
