Review:

The Horse heaven Hills came from the Den Hoed Benches vineyard. Some refer to it as Wallula but the best cab comes from the benches that are perched above the Columbia river. It is a spectacular vineyard and it would be great to get all the C& G folks to take a tour of all the east and west vineyards. Anyway, it was treated about the same as the Walla Walla coming into the winery.

It was harvested on Halloween and came in a bit higher in sugar and acid compared to the Walla Walla fruit. It also was in barrel for 16 months. It was in a mix of Vicard barrels, some regular stave, medium toast and some thin stave medium toast but on the fire for an extended amount of time. I've decided to go to all thin stave long toast, really nice oak flavor. We made about 70 cases total. - the winery
