The 2009 Pinot Noir Shea Vineyard is an exceptionally perfumed wine with inviting aromas of exotic spices, rose petal, blueberry, and black cherry. Layers of flavor, a velvety texture, and impeccable balance make for a textbook Pinot Noir.

New father Jim Prosser is well-established in his winery on Parrot Hill in the Chehalem Mountains AVA. He is pleased by the fact that he was able to bring all of his 2009s in under 14% alcohol. - Jay Miller

Deep, deep red in color it delivers a reserved nose of savory smoke, ultra ripe cherry-blackberry, resin and cracked black pepper. It roams the palate like a sweet, plush, late summer blue-blackberry pie, with savory cracklings on the side. The wine's weighty frame is matched by good grip and a seamless structure that keeps it lithe, considering how substantial.

The Story: Lest we say it again, Shea Vineyard is the booming bass note out of the cellar. The perpetual crowd please needs a bit of air, but then delivers lush/lusher, plush/plusher, its classic one-two punch nature of ripe and sweet flavored fruit. - Jim Prosser

2007 Vintage Tasting Notes

A robust red that busts the vintage like a voluminous balloon. Dark cherry, resinous spice, sweet barnyard and graham rise off the top. Deep blueberry flavors with red berry highlights, meat and tobacco occupy the palate. It’s sweet, beautiful, ripe and floral, with persistence, on good mineral acidity and rounded medium-plus tannins. - the winery
