J. K. Carriere Glass White Pinot noir Rose 2010
Tasting through a selection of Oregon's best rosés, this one stands out. Jim Prosser's Glass is poured at some of Portland's poshest restaurants. There's nothing casually thrown off in the winemaking here - it's a well made wine that stands up to the most finicky Pinot lover's scrutiny.
Glass is white Pinot noir - Jim calls it "serious rosé". It's fashioned in the manner of a turn of the century rosé Champagne, with no bubbles, a slight spritz and a luscious ripe sip of summer taste. Very limited, sells out in a few weeks, and justifiably so.
Scents of lemon and lime flowers and a delicious texture herald this exceptional rosé. Vibrant, classic citrus and raspberry are accented by just a hint of the perfume of an alpine white strawberry. Calls for beautiful views, a soft breeze, sunshine, and a summer picnic. Makes for happy memories. - Jean
