J. Scott Avante Red Wine Blend offers this ready to drink wine at a bargain price. Jonathan Oberlander is winemaker at Silvan Ridge Winery - and J. Scott is his family winery, six acres in the south Willamette Valley. We asked Jonathan to describe his wine and here's what he told us. "This wine is the wine I started my company with. I wanted to make a big, fat red that didn't cost $100/bottle like Napa cabs at the time. It is my own little artistic expression. The wine is never the same either in varietal composition or their proportions. This blend is a Rhone blend; Grenache, Petite Sirah, Syrah(co-fermented with Viognier) and lastly Roussanne(a white wine added back to soften tannins and give the wine a fruit lift). I only make 100 cases. That way if people don't like it I can drink it all myself! Great business model huh?" Can't argue with his reasoning be we know he won't be drinking this all himself.

The Avante Red is a fun, easy drinking table wine with dark fruit aromas of cherry, plum, and spice. Enjoy with a hearty soup, burgers, or other "Tuesday night" meals.
