Who is this guy? Justin Neufeld is a buzzy guy - that is, there's lots of buzz in the Washington wine industry saying that he's an up and comer. Justin's day job is as winemaker at Gilbert Cellars. JB Neufeld is his personal winery, making less than 300 cases a year.

-Will I like the wines? Yes if you like big, plush full bodied Cabernets with intriguing aromas and interwoven, complex flavors of fruit, smoke, chocolate, herbs, dried citrus and currants.

-What he makes -Two single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons from Dubrul and Artz Vineyards. He is fascinated that he can make two wines from the same grape, in the same style, yet the difference between the two vineyards makes a huge difference in the outcome of the wines.

-Best known for - Justin is much better known for his Gilbert Cellars wines, where he works as winemaker. His JB Neufeld wines are still an "Insider's" find.

-Best Wines - Hard to decide between the two Cabs - Dubrul is more elegant with complex flavors of plush black fruit, clove, spice and dried fruit, while the Artz has the smoky, roasted meat, espresso bean, leather and black cherry flavors that the vineyard is known for.

-Where did the name come from? The winery's name comes from his and his wife, Brooke's first initials along with his last name in honor of his paternal grandfather.
