Review:
Yumm. Might just become your "house" red wine. A juicy, fruit forward red cherry and strawberry Pinot with spice and smoky notes. Very easy drinking, sip this or serve with burgers or pizza. I love the balance and the fact that the winemaker isn't scared of putting some tannic structure in an everyday Pinot. The finish is long and the balance is impressive, especially at this price. - Jean
2008 Vintage Tasting Notes
Jezebel Pinot noir 08 - Highly Recommended by Avalon. Full of juicy red cherry, strawberry, milk cocoa and spice, with delicate notes of orange, strawberry and raspberry tea on the palate. Fruit forward and yummy, this wine also has a delicate silkiness that is balanced by structure and character. - Adrienne
2008 was a fantastic vintage in Oregon which produced beautifully balanced wines with a wonderful depth of flavor. This wine has bright red fruit characters with soft tannins and should pair well with salmon, chicken and mushrooms. It is enjoyable now, but it may also cellar well for one to three years. - the winery
The 2008 Pinot Noir is a blend of wine from several Oregon vineyards including:
Battle Creek vineyard, Willamette Valley (60%)
Bolton Vineyard, Columbia Valley (25%)
Melrose Vineyard, Umpqua (15%)
The fruit was cropped around two to three tons per acre and fermented in small lots in 60% stainless steel, 5% new and 35% neutral French oak. The various sources were blended to produce a wine that is fruit-forward, well-balanced and surprisingly complex.
