Jones of Washington Winery is the culmination of a natural progression from farming to grape growing to winemaking. In 1949, when the Columbia Basin Project began, the Jones Family started growing and packing potatoes in Winchester, Washington. From this, the venture has grown into the production of many different farm crops. Over fifty years of farming experience in the Columbia basin has led to the breaking of new ground and the diversification of crops for the Jones Family.
The Jones family has farmed outside Quincy, Washington since the 1970's, and planted their first vineyard in 1997. Cabernet, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Syrah make up the bulk of acreage, while small lots of Pinot gris, Riesling, Pinot noir, Viognier, Petite Syrah, Zinfandel, Cab Franc, and Sangiovese complete the 1000+ acres of wine grapes in several vineyard sites on the Wahluke Slope.
At Jones of Washington, Patriarch Jack Jones is joined by his daughter Megan and son Greg (vineyard manager and assistant winemaker) in the winery.
