Charles Smith is the famous owner and winemaker at K Vintners. Based in Walla Walla, Washington, Charles makes a wide array of very popular and highly rated red and white wines from Washington State fruit. When the press writes about Washington State wine, Charles is always mentioned. He is one of Washington's great success stories. He does it all his way, with skill, savvy, and a highly original sense of style.

Charles's premier label is K Vintners. The wines are allocated and rare as hens teeth. Wine collectors worldwide covet a place on his mailing list. From the first vintage, a string of Wine Spectator and Wine Advocate scores in the high 90s rocketed his K wines to prominence. The K Vintners Royal City Syrah 06 was given 100 points by columnist Paul Gregutt, and the 08 received 99 points by Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.
