Ken Wright Cellars Meredith Mitchell Pinot noir 08

Review:

This fruit focused pinot has the most natural display of tannins and acidity of all the Ken Wright sites. Strong flavors of blue and black fruit, black currant and cassis.

Wine Advocate 92 Points -

Wine Advocate: Dark ruby red with an already complex aromatic array of smoke, spice box, incense, violets, black cherry and black raspberry, in the mouth this is a brawny, more structured wine than its siblings (partly a trait of McMinnville Pinots). Densely packed and structured while buttressed with lively acidity, this will be a long-lived Pinot demanding a minimum of 3-4 years of cellaring. It should effortlessly see its 20th birthday.

Wine Spectator 92 Points - Wine Spectator review: Firm tannins surround a supple core of dark berry, cherry and sassafras in the flavor profile, with a hint of chocolate. The flavors linger smoothly as the prickle of the tannins fades. Best from 2013 through 2020. - H.S.
