$59.95 Regular

in any 12 bottle order or Build a Case

Previous vintage notes: Aromas are earthy and floral and include cardamom, licorice, tangerine and black cherry. Flavors are fruity, leaning more to red fruit, cocoa and smoke rather than the dark fruit revealed on the nose. This is a silky, elegant wine with a long finish. It should reach its full potential in five to six years.

2009 Vintage Tasting Notes

2009 Wine Advocate - 92 points - The flagship 2009 Pinot Noir Jerome Reserve spent 15 months in 67% new French oak and was sourced from four vineyards with Stermer playing the leading role. Aromas of cassis, black cherry, coriander, anise, and cedar leads to a spicy, savory, complex Pinot that has the best concentration and length of all the Lemelson wines. It will benefit from 2-3 years of cellaring and should drink well for a decade.

Lemelson Vineyards makes their wines with native yeast fermentations and bottles them without fining or filtration. - Jay Miller

2009 Tanzer - 92 points - Deep ruby-red. Pungent bouquet displays cherry-vanilla, raspberry preserves and oak spices, with slow-building florality. Lush, creamy and broad, offering powerful red fruit flavors that take a darker turn on the back half, with a smoky nuance creeping in. Gains weight and sweetness with air, finishing with notes of cola and candied raspberry. This drinks very well now with an hour or so of air. - Josh Raynolds

The 2009 Jerome Reserve combines spice and earth with dark and red fruits. Dark black cherry, cassis, red plum and strawberry jam are lifted by floral coriander and anise and darkened by vanilla and shiitake mushroom. The palate is bright and fresh yet powerful. The mid-palate reflects the nose but leans more toward red fruits that lead to a long, energetic finish. While this wine is interesting and pleasurable to drink now, we believe it will reward 5-10 years of cellaring. - the winery

2008 Vintage Tasting Notes

2008 Wine Advocate - 92 points - The 2008 Pinot Noir Jerome Reserve is a blend of the top barrels in the cellar. Made with some whole clusters, it is the most expressive of the Lemelson wines both aromatically and on the palate. Dense, satin-textured, bordering on opulent, it is loaded with ripe black fruits. With outstanding volume, balance, and length, it will deliver a drinking window extending from 2013 to at least 2023. - Jay Miller

Muscular black fruit, toasty oak, peppery accents, and a long, creamy-textured finish. Jerome will delight fans of robust, broad-style Pinot noir noir.

2006 Vintage Tasting Notes

2006 Tanzer - 92 points - Deep red. Pungent, mineral-driven aromas of dark berries and cherry, with subtle floral and smoke notes adding complexity; reminds me of a wine from Morey-Saint-Denis. Sweet black raspberry and cherry flavors are supple and palate-saturating, picking up a zesty black pepper quality on the back end. Maintains sweetness and power through its long, gently chewy finish. I like this wine's blend of richness and vivacity."

The 2006 Jerome shows aromas of sweet black bing cherries and a hint of violets lead to flavors of blackberry, marionberry, loganberry, black raspberry - lots of subtly shifting flavors of berry fruit, with an undercurrent of sweet spices and a hint of minerality in the tannins. Lovely. -jy
