Leonetti Cellar Reserve 07 - Our Reserve is as dark as they come. The nose opens with an intense cassis, broadens into a bouquet of complex florals, and on second sniffs, reveals cedar, smoke, black fruit compote and earth. Its just an enchantingly complex nose. On the palate its no less gratifying - incredibly dense, but with wonderfully supple tannins. A glycerin-like sweetness, and incredible length. This wine will reward the patient drinker who can hide it in some corner of their cellar. - the winery

Leonetti Cellar Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 06 - "The nose has a beautiful medley of plums and black fruits, blackberry puree, very ripe bloody bing cherries, dried rose petals, anda whiff of smoke and cedar. While being very big, dense, and long in the finish, the palate impression is perfectly balancedand plush, with an incredible glycerin mouthfeel." - the winemaker

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 97 Points
The flagship 2006 Reserve was raised in new French oak for 22 months. It is made up of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Petit Verdot, 11% Malbec, and 2% Merlot. Opaque purple/black in color, it exhibits aromas of rose petal, dried fruits, spice box, incense, black currant, and blackberry. Suave, velvety, elegant and powerful, all it needs is another 6-8 years in the cellar to reveal its full potential.
Gary Figgins and son, Chris, keep tweaking things in the vineyards and cellar as they move toward totally biodynamic farming. As usual, their wines are benchmarks against which others must be measured.
