Avalon Wine

Januik
Syrah 05
$29.95/$26.95

Wine Spectator 92 points
Only 3 cases left!

"Polished, round, effusively flavorful and distinctive for the violet notes that float around the blackberry and plum aromas and flavors, lingering with nuances of white pepper and cream. Drink now through 2013. 626 cases made." - HS

Juicy, spicy, with subtle oak accents. Made with exceptional Syrah grapes from the Kiona Vineyard on Red Mountain and Lewis Vineyard in the Yakima Valley, this wine has all the classic characteristics of the best Syrahs. It begins with subtle oak accents that are complemented by plum, spice, and cassis. On the palate, it is quite supple and finished with great length. 220 cases produced. - the winery

Avalon Wine

Leonetti Cabernet Sauvignon 06
$99.95/$89.95

Washington Classic
Dense saturated color. The initial nose is blueberry compote, blackberries, and a whiff of pine resin and sawdust behind the classic Cabernet note of cassis.

As I tasted the wine over several days, the wine changes dramatically, with additional layers of aromas, including tobacco, more black fruits, and vanilla revealing themselves. The palate of this wine is gorgeous, with a lush, mouth-coating texture.

The wine finishes with an endless glycerin sweetness for which Leonetti wines are known. - the winemaker

Avalon Wine

Januik
Cabernet Sauvignon 06
$32.45/$29.21

Wine Spectator 92 points
"Chunky and chewy, with a stylish core of red berry, red currant and cherry fruit poking through a layer of prickly tannins. Needs time to soften, but this should get there. The finish just doesn't quit." - HS

This supple, complex Cabernet is overflowing with ripe currant, blackberry, chocolate and warm vanilla notes in the nose. On the palate, the wine lingers with a long, supple finish.

Avalon Wine

Pedestal Merlot 06
$51.95/$46.76 750ml

Wine Spectator 93 points

"Dark and spicy, with a tarry edge to the blackberry and currant fruit, emerging on the never-ending finish with richness, polish and elements of spice, pepper and an extra whoosh of cherry. It all keeps sailing effortlessly. Best from 2011 through 2018." - HS

While it's labeled Merlot, the Pedestal is really a Merlot-based Bordeaux blend with 8% Cabernet, and 4% each Petit Verdot and Malbec. The project of world-famous Pomeral consultant Michel Rolland, the Pedestal is an outstanding example of Washington wine.

Avalon Wine

Leonetti Reserve 06
$154.95/$139.45

Washington's Most Collectable
The nose has a beautiful medley of plums and black fruits, blackberry puree, very ripe bing cherries, dried rose petals, and a whiff of smoke and cedar. While being very big, dense, and long in the finish, the palate impression is perfectly balanced and plush, with an incredible glycerin mouthfeel." - the winemaker.

Robert Parker Wine Advocate - 97 points each for 2003, 2004, 2005 vintages - 2006 review will be out in late 2009

Avalon Wine

Sequel Syrah 06
$53.45/$48.11 750ml
$28.75/$25.88 375ml

An Avalon customer favorite every vintage, the 2006 Sequel is appealing for the same reason: a marriage of rich, powerful fruit and deft balance. This Sequel is much better than Terminator:Salvation.

Sequel Syrah 06 Wine Spectator 92 points: "Bright and generous, delivering a lively mouthful of blackberry and plum fruit, shaded with hints of pepper and spice, lingering nicely on the beautifully focused finish. This has depth without excess weight, along with the goods to develop long term in the cellar. Drink now through 2014. - HS"

John Duval, former winemaker of Penfold's internationally famous Grange Red, makes the Sequel Syrah in the style of his iconic Australian wines.

Sequel Syrah 05 received 94 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. The 06 rating is expected in late 2009.

Avalon Wine

Spring Valley Vineyard
Uriah
Cabernet Sauvignon 06
$49.95/$44.95

Wine Spectator 93 points
"Smooth and focused, with a cigar box character to make the ripe blackberry and currant fruit more interesting, finishing with polished tannins. Has great presence without being pushy, and the finish doesn't quit. Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Drink now through 2014." - HS

A full-bodied behemoth of a wine, this is Spring Valley's flagship red and has been in the Wine Spectator Top 100 Wines of the Year twice.

Avalon Wine

Feather
Cabernet Sauvignon 06
$53.95/$48.55

California Icon Randy Dunn's WA Cab
Concentrated and beautifully balanced, Randy Dunn's 2006 Feather might best be described as "an iron fist in a velvet glove." This wine offers fresh, fragrant, fruity aromas; spicy, dark cherry on the palate and a silky mouth feel and lengthy finish.

A superstar California winemaker plus incredible fruit from Washington: this is the third vintage of Cabernet Sauvignon made by Randy Dunn. Randy makes the Feather Cabernet Sauvignon the same way he makes his legendary, highly collectible California Cabs.

Avalon Wine

Leonetti
Merlot 07
$82.95/$74.66

Washington Classic
One of the most complex aromas I've ever seen on any merlot. Exploding out of the glass are ripe red fruits, candle wax, violet and other floral aromas, caramel, graham crackers, and a puree of bramle fruits. The wine has laser precision and is quite structured for merlot - and while drinking great now, will reward a few years of aging. - the winery

Avalon Wine

Spring Valley Vineyard
Frederick 06
$53.95/$48.55

Wine Spectator 92 Points
"Rich and chewy, with a brightness to the cherry and mulberry fruit that balances well against hints of wet earth and cedar as the finish persists expressively. There's nice balance and length. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and others. Best from 2010 through 2016. 3,000 cases made." - HS
