Review: Deep ruby red wine with aromas of creme brulee, black cherries, chocolate cake, red licorice and red roses. Flavors include black fruit, dark cocoa with a hint of cinnamon, and pomegranate. This is an opulent wine with broad tannins and structure. 2008 Vintage Tasting Notes An enticingly ruby-red splash in the glass reveals layered aromas of blackberries, black cherry cola, herbs, holiday spices, tea, tobacco, pepper and fresh earth. The senses are further enhanced by the full-bodied burst of red fruit—pomegranate, cherry compote, Gala apple, nectarine zest—with soft, supple tannins and a long, clean, gratifying finish. - the winery Made from grapes from Domaine Coteau, Angel Vine & Crawford Vineyards. Bill Hanson is assistant winemaker at Panther Creek Wine Cellars, and has his own winery as well. His Libra Wines winery is named for his wife's astrological sign and inspired by the mythology of Greece. Fresh red berries and cherry aromas dominate this juicy wine. Sweet red fruit flavors (raspberry, cherry, strawberry) are enlivened by a tangy hint of minerals and earth. A little air time evens and mellows this ready to drink Pinot noir. |
