2009 Wine Advocate - 90 points - The 2009 Soleil Roussanne was sourced from the Olsen Vineyard in the Yakima Valley. It was barrel-fermented in 20% new French oak where it remained sur lie with regular batonnage for 7 months. Medium straw-colored, it exhibits a nose with plenty of minerality, smoke, bee’s wax, melon, and fresh herbs. Medium-bodied on the palate, it has a smooth texture conveying flavors of pit fruits, lemon, and baking spices along with vibrant acidity for balance. It will drink nicely for another 2-3 years."

The 2009 Soleil is wonderfully aromatic with notes of acacia honey, smoky marshmallow, allspice, cardamom and a real flintiness. The mouth shows rich and full-bodied flavors of dried apricots, pear, toasted nutmeg and lemon bar all perfectly integrated with seamless acidity.
