Review:

2009 Wine Advocate - 90 points - The 2009 Soleil Roussanne was sourced from the Olsen Vineyard in the Yakima Valley. It was barrel-fermented in 20% new French oak where it remained sur lie with regular batonnage for 7 months. Medium straw-colored, it exhibits a nose with plenty of minerality, smoke, bee’s wax, melon, and fresh herbs. Medium-bodied on the palate, it has a smooth texture conveying flavors of pit fruits, lemon, and baking spices along with vibrant acidity for balance. It will drink nicely for another 2-3 years."

From the winery -

The 2009 Soleil is wonderfully aromatic with notes of acacia honey, smoky marshmallow, allspice, cardamom and a real flintiness. The mouth shows rich and full-bodied flavors of dried apricots, pear, toasted nutmeg and lemon bar all perfectly integrated with seamless acidity. Pair this wine with poultry, mildly spicy foods, smoked salmon, shellfish, and assorted soft, fully-ripened cheeses. 100% Roussanne
