Marco e Vittorio Adriano Barbaresco 05
Classic Nebbiolo, in a restrained, traditional style. Bright pie cherry, menthol, licorice, and cinnamon come together to form a balanced wine. The tannins are still a bit tight, but the right food - speck and mortadella, for example - makes this come alive. An outstanding value in Barbaresco. One of Oregon's best known wine country restaurants, Nick's Italian Cafe, pours this by the glass!
Marco e Vittorio Adriano Barbaresco 05 comes from a small farm situated in the Langhe hills, the wines are made from a 20 hectare vineyard. Grandfather Giuseppe planted the vineyard around 1900, and expanded with son Aldo. Now the winery is run by grandsons Marco and Vittorio. All of the vineyard and winery work is done by the family.
