Mitchell Wine Group

Mitchell Wine Group was founded by David Brown, owner and CEO of Mitchell Lewis & Staver Co. which was founded in 1892 as one of Portland's first agricultural supply companies. Their labels incorporate an image from an old advertisement which features their first storefront building.

The philosophy behind the wines is an incorporation of the Oregon pioneer spirit which reflects the hard work and determination of the settlers. The wines are hand crafted to honor the history of those who came before and tilled the soil, planted the vineyards, and created the bounty with which the winemaker can work his magic.

Winemaker Chris Lubberstedt is in charge of production and the first release is a 2010 Pinot Gris called "The Visionary" and a 2009 Pinot noir called "The Craftsman". Chris has a background working for Willakenzie and Wine By Joe and later for Methven Family Vineyards.
