Monchiero Barbera d'Alba Superiore 07

Monchiero Barbera d'Alba Superiore 07 -Nearly half the wine we drink at home is Italian, with a noticeable slant towards Piedmont. Barbera is a perfect food wine - the Monchiero is shockingly good for the price. Earthy black fruits and leather with violets and graphite, this Barbera is our new "house" wine. - Marcus
Barbera d’Alba distinguishes itself for its pleasant fragrance and for its harmonic completeness; today it is proposed as a modern, important wine, and it meets a high favour and attention from those people who are keen on it. Barbera wine is refined inside oak barrels for at least one year by obtaining then a more structured wine. - the winery

About the Winery
The farm includes about 10 hectares of vineyard distributed along the territories of Castiglione Falletto, La Morra, Alba, Roddi and Verduno and it takes its shape in 1954 by the brothers Remo and Maggiorino Monchiero, viticulturists for tradition.
At the beginning they sold the grapes directly, then from the year 1966 they started leading the vinification operations directly, but it is only after a few years that the firm has started its most natural evolution, that of the direct bottling of the whole wine production.
Today the cellar is entrusted to the young Vittorio Monchiero, oenologist qualified at the well-known Oenologic Institute of Alba, who scrupulously cares the running of the vineyards, the vinification processes, and the wines refining. The firm is particularly proud of its Barolo selections, the most meaningful wine, rich of ethereal fragrances, with a body, taste and structure that enable it to be particularly long-lived.
The farm has recently started a new activity of touristic reception called “il Girasole”, just a few steps far from the Canteen.
