Tasting notes for the 2002 vintage: Big, spicy, fruit forward, with hints of toast and smoke wafting through a medium to full bodied Pinot with lots of black berry and currant flavors. So pleasant, this wine shows Dau Crisp's skills with the Temperance Hill Vineyard and Rick's skill at putting it all together in the winery. Ready to drink, bold, everything's balanced and integrated, and it has Rick's signature hints of smoke and herbs, all tied up into a richly delicious package. jy
Rick Mafit has made wine from Oregon and Washington grapes for over 25 years. Many of the best vineyard sources for grapes in the NW were first mined by Rick.
