The 2009 vintage yielded beautifully ripe fruit with deep, sweet flavors of blackberry and currant. Complex aromas of spice, graham, and vanilla, beautiful deep purple color and a long, generous finish.

2008 Vintage Tasting Notes

The warm 2008 vintage gave beautifully ripe fruit with deep, sweet flavors of dried black fruit, perhaps cassis and cherry. Complex aromas of graham, oak spices, vanilla and crème brulée integrate, leading to a long generous finish. The wine is dark purple in color. This wine was bottled early to retain fruit and is quite drinkable for a wine so young. While this wine was produced for early enjoyment, it will improve substantially with additional time in bottle. With proper storage this wine should easily age well for five years. - the winery

In 1998, Woodward Canyon Winery began producing wines under its second label, Nelms Road. Nelms Road offers merlot and cabernet sauvignon from Walla Walla Valley and Washington State grapes. It was developed to produce delicious and affordable red wine from young vineyards or declassified Woodward Canyon Winery production.
