The Northwest Vine Project's 2006 Malbec was made by David O'Reilly (Owen Roe). The fruit for the wine was sourced from Dr. Steve Elerding’s Six Prong Vineyard from vines planted in the early ‘90s. The site is on a bluff in Alderdale overlooking the Columbia River. The extended ripening in stressed chalky soil, perfectly suited to this traditional Bordeaux variety, resulted in this beefy, burly wine.

This wine is part of the NW Vine Project, a group of inexpensive wines made for an Oregon wine distributor. Made by David O'Reilly (Owen Roe, O'Reilly's) and Andrew Rich (Andrew Rich Wines), these are super values and not readily available outside Oregon.
