Novelty Hill Cabernet Sauvignon 06
Novelty Hill Cabernet Sauvignon 06
Wine Spectator 92 points
"Dense and chewy, but with a nice lift of acidity and freshness as the finish rolls in, framing the cherry, blackberry, coffee and smoke flavors as they linger expressively. Best from 2011 through 2018." - H.S.

2005 Vintage Tasting Notes
"Novelty Hill 2005 Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon ($25) is a fine-tuned Bordeaux blend, with cab franc, merlot and malbec making up 10 percent of the total. It's dark and tannic, tight and compact, but fully ripe and balanced nicely. The flavors are layered and seamless, rather than relying on sugar and oak to fill in where the fruit is lacking."- Paul Gregutt, Seattle Times, 4-30-08
2004 Vintage Tasting Notes
Wine Spectator 91 points: "Supple and generous, a plush mouthful of spicy cherry and currant wrapped in refined tannins, which let the finish persist impressively. Best after 2007.-H.S.
Excellent value Washington Cab from Mike Januik. The Novelty Hill Cab always receives good reviews. The 2004 Cab is packed full of black fruit and mocha, with nice balance.
Winemaker Mike Januik sourced grapes from some of the best vineyards in the state to produce this great value wine. A richly aromatic wine with layers of ripe plum, red currant and sweet black fruit. This is a classic, full-bodied Cabernet with firm acidity and a long-lasting, concentrated finish. 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Malbec, 4% Merlot, 2%Cab Franc.
GREAT VALUE.
