Nuthatch Tempranillo Southern Oregon 06
Nuthatch Cellars defines "hand crafted." They make tiny batches of wine in the foothills a couple miles west of our Corvallis store. Only 36 cases produced (36!) of their 2006 Tempranillo was made, and it's a beauty.
Beaming with classic Tempranillo flavors of dark berries, plums and tobacco, Nuthatch rounds out the 06 wine with a healthy dollup of Syrah. The Syrah softens the Tempranillo, adding rich blackberry and cherry.
75% Tempranillo, 20% Syrah, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon from Southern Oregon. Aged for 16 months in French and American oak barrels.
