O'Shea Scarborough Riesling Over the Line 08Winemaker Notes: This dry Riesling, is fermented in barrels, then aged in stainless steel. It sees a minimum of 7 months bottle age before releasing. Other Notes: This Dry Riesling is inspired by the great trocken (meaning dry) of Germany. Most trocken wines do not see the United States, instead they are consumed within Germany. We strive for mineral notes instead of sweetness. Great with clams, oysters, and other seafood. The racy acidity and the crisp mouth feel make this wine great for summer days…and only 12.2% alcohol! The Name: “Over the Line” is what this might be to your average Riesling drinker. We make this different because we like it. We don’t like the stereotypical Washington Riesling. We find it boring, therefore we strive for minerals, for acid, and not for the apples and honeysuckle which come out in so many of these Washington State ones. We are not trying to be arrogant, we’re simply just doing our own thing.
