O'Shea Scarborough Riesling Eiswein 07
O'Shea Scarborough Riesling Eiswein (Ice Wine) is VERY LIMITED AND RARE - a real Washington ice wine, harvested in the vineyard when the grapes froze overnight and conditions were perfect ( a very infrequent event).
Harvested December 1st , 2007 with seven inches of snow on the ground, the temperature around 17 degrees (and it had been like that for about 3-4 days), we picked up frozen grapes and rushed them back to our south Seattle winery?where appropriately it was snowing. Although the yields were very small, the wine was amazingly concentrated and yet very high in acidity. The combination could not have worked out better. Last year the birds and the wind snatched this up, hopefully we'll have another great cold season for our Eiswein. 21 cases produced
