Redman's 2006 Pinot noir features red fruit in both scent and flavor, which is typical of the 2006 vintage. Aromas of red currant and red raspberry dominate, with hints of fresh turned earth and fresh herbs in the mix. Silky flavors of bing cherry, red currant, and tart pie cherry, transition effortlessly to the fresh rosemary, pie spice, and black plum-accented finish. The Redman wines are made by Michael Beckley, one of our favorite winemakers, who also makes wines under his own Quercus label (Harmonia, Camus, etc.)

This wine is kicking butt right now! At first pour, wiffs of dusted rose petals and allspice mix with red fruit perfume--it pulls you in. Loads of pie cherry and raspberry hit the front of your palate and sweeten as the wine moves to the finish. There's an almost hidden base note of darker berries that elongates the finish. The Palmer Creek's elegant texture works great with food but it's smoking on its own, too.
