"In the 2008s, you've got the best vintage Oregon has ever produced, the kind of vintage Oregon winemakers always hoped they could produce." Harvey Steiman,
Wine Spectator
.

-

Oregon's exceptional 2008 Pinot noirs are arriving fast and furious. The best are selling with dizzying speed.

-

2008 was a small vintage. You'll need to grab what you want, as great price plus great vintage equals short supply. It's a different situation from recent vintages - not nearly as much wine is available.

-

Here are five absolutely delectable under $25 Oregon 2008 Pinots.

Bergstrom's best deal in years.

-

It's been several years since Bergstrom made a Willamette Valley Pinot noir, and even better, it's made from Bergstrom Estate and Shea Vineyard fruit! Grab this wine - only 400 cases made!

-

Inviting aromas of black cherry, clove, and vanilla cream lead into a palate full of juicy, structured cherries and berries. Mouthwatering dark raspberries and baking spices hang on, reminding you to have another sip. A commendable value from one of Oregon's highest-rated wineries, the 08 Willamette Valley will age nicely for 3-5 years, if you can wait that long! - Marcus

Brooks
Pinot noir Willamette Valley 08
$21.95/$19.75 by the case

-

Great complexity for the value - cherry cobbler, sandalwood, orange essence, with a delectable black cherry core and light smoke notes accenting the sweet huckleberries on the finish. A versatile Pinot noir that is equally comfortable as a sipper or with a plate of ribs and Brussels sprouts. - Marcus

Et Fille

The Et Fille Willamette Valley Pinot noir 08 is silky and generous with a mesmerizing perfume of huckleberry, nutmeg and cinnamon. Silky and generous throughout, the sweet and juicy dark fruits come together with savory dried thyme and subtle toast. Yum! By far the best Willamette Valley bottling from Et Fille, and a super-value in Pinot. A blend of all eight vineyards that Et Fille sources from, the 2008 includes the entire three barrels of 2008 Palmer Creek. - Marcus

Full of juicy red cherry, strawberry, milk cocoa and spice, with delicate notes of orange, strawberry and raspberry tea on the palate. Fruit forward and yummy, this wine also has a delicate silkiness that is balanced by structure and character. - Adrienne

Patricia Green Cellars
Reserve Pinot noir 08

-

One of the best under $25 Oregon Pinots each year, Patty Green and her team have perfected their "best representation of the vintage as a whole".

-

The mix of wines is sensational, incorporating barrels from stalwart vineyards such as Balcombe, Whistling Ridge, Winderlea, Ana, Croft, and Estate. In fact, more than 60% of this wine comes from vines planted prior to 1990.

-

There are wonderful sweet, flowery aromatics, the wine is purely red-fruited with Griotte cherries and Oregon strawberries making up the mid-palate and there is just enough acidity and tannin to give the wine balance, depth and length.

-

The 2008 Reserve Pinot noir is meant to drink well when young (and it does) but there is no doubt that this will be a surprisingly age-worthy bottle of Pinot Noir. This is a wine that is worth stocking up on for every day enjoyment and some medium-term cellaring. A classic, true-blue Oregon Pinot Noir!- the winery
