Cody Wright is all set to run ROCO, the private label of Rollin Soles and Corby Stonebraker (Argyle). The winery will be in the hills above Dundee, and Cody will be running the show, with Rollin’s expertise.
Cody will be making the ROCO wines, and of course, his own Purple Hands wines. Previously, Cody assisted with the red wines and led the white wine fermentation program at his father’s Ken Wright Cellars winery. We’ll see his first ROCO wines with the 2009 vintage.
Cody is one of Oregon’s most talented 20-something winemakers. He says he’s hoping to “maybe find my way down to Mendoza this next vintage. I would like to work with that area. Maybe back to New Zealand, Make some Pinots.”
Cody says he strives for “classic elegance in my wines with progressive styles and expressions.” A worthy goal and one that will be exciting to taste as he releases his first ROCO wines.
