Here at Avalon Wine call ourselves Oregon Chardonnay “Crusaders” – out to get Oregon Chard the respect and followers it deserves.
Well there’s no better place for you to see for yourselves what we’re talking about than the Second Annual Oregon Chardonnay Symposium on May 4th at Red Ridge Farms, just down the road from Domaine Drouhin and Domaine Serene.

First and foremost, you get to taste a lot of the delicious Chards we’ve offered in the past few months – wines from Walter Scott, Arterberry Maresh, Crowley, and Matello, along with Big Table Farms, Divison, Durant, and EIEIO.
Second, you’ll meet the winemakers – a remarkable group of women and men with a passion for Chardonnay, and the wine making skills to back it up.

Oregon Chardonnay Symposium at Red Ridge Farms:
May 4th, 1 pm. Panel discussion and technical tasting, 1-3:30, expanded tasting 3:30 -5PM.
There are 60 tickets available for the event and cost $60 each. Reservations are required and can be made by calling Red Ridge Farms at 503-864-8502.
First there’s a panel discussion, featuring eight artisan producers and nationally renowned wine writers. The discussion will include a technical tasting of very limited production Chardonnays. Moderator is Katherine Cole, wine columnist for the Oregonian, along with Paul Gregutt, columnist for the Seattle Times, and W. Black Gray, columnist for winereviewonline.
Afterwards, a walk-around tasting at the Durant Vineyards Tasting Room will feature wines from the participating wineries along with charcuterie plates and the Farm’s Oregon Olive Mill olive oils. Participants will be provided with seminar notes, tasting notes and logo wineglass.
