Oregon Wine- Grapes Are Barely There

The 2011 vintage is turning out to be one of the slowest starters ever. Here’s a picture of a grape cluster on June 20th 2011.

Oregon grapes are very small for the time of the year

I would bet any amount of money that the 2nd photo is not April 2007. It is post bloom and bloom occured about June 25-26 in 2007. That is probably a July photo so we are not QUITE as behind as your post makes it seem. In fact the vines have caught up nicely. In our vineyard we are at or near the top of the wire. Still remains to be seen when we will bloom but my guess is July 4th.

Yepp, you are absolutely right. I had the date on the photo mislabeled. I’m looking for a late June photo now – do you have one?

      Thanks!
