Owen Roe Pinot noir Chehalem Mountains 08
Owen Roe Pinot noir Chehalem Mountains 08 - Think of a midweight boxer - powerful but nimble. Rich dark berries and black cherries form a creamy palate that plumps up with integrated toasty oak, baking spices and a seamless finish. This has a slightly darker profile than the Kilmore. A very limited bottling, with only 4 barrels made.
"This four barrel blend from the tiny Anna’s Vineyard on Schaad Road in Newberg exemplifies Pinot Noir from this new appellation. The basalt soils contribute to the dark fruit, spice and a rich textural palate weight. Three barrels are from the Pommard clone, and one barrel of the Dijon 115 clone. Together, they form a seamless wine that is lithe with plush tanins. This wine is the richest and deepest colored of our 2008 Pinot Noirs." - the winery
