The Owen Roe Eola Amity Pinot noir is nicknamed "Sojourner" for the vineyard in the Eola Amity hills. This is a single vineyard wine, the first vintage in which Owen Roe's Winemaker David O'Reilly chose to work exclusively with one vineyard. Sojourner Vineyard, located near Rickreal south of Salem, Oregon has 14.73 acres in two blocks planted to Pinot noir. The vineyard is owned by Denny Peseau. 2007 Vintage Tasting Notes This wine is made in a hedonistic, over-the-top style more typical of cult California Pinots than of Oregon's more structured offerings. It is fleshy, weighty and saturated with berry and cherry cobbler flavors, accented by sweet pie spice, vanilla bean, and mocha toast. velvety and broad, it finishes long and sweet. BIG.
