Owen Roe Slide Mountain Cabernet Franc 09
From a three quarter acre block of grapes in a small vineyard located within the Yakima Indian Nation. Known for its weighty, dark flavors and accents of fresh tobacco, olive and graphite.
An outstanding wine made with David's careful attention to detail. You know how good Cab Franc can be when it's well made, and this is one of the best I've ever tasted.
2008 Vintage Tasting Notes
only 90 cases made. 100% Cabernet Franc.
The 2008 Slide Mountain Cabernet Franc 08's delicate aromatics enfuses the wine with a sweet perfume. It's very reminiscent of the aromas of Bordeaux. - the winery
2006 Vintage Tasting Notes
Owen Roe Slide Mountain Cabernet Franc 06 is a serious cellar candidate. Tightly wound, with gobs of cherry candy accented by green peppercorns. The flavors glide over a massively textured body, finishing with white pepper and graphite. This will take a few years to come together, as we've seen with the 2004 Slide Mtn.
2004 Vintage Tasting Notes
Wine Spectator 90 points: "Supple and lithe, this is open-textured and appealing for its spicy blueberry flavors that liner on the polished finish. Drink now through 2011. 127 cases made." H.S.
This exciting wine announces the emergence of a new superstar vineyard in Washington State. David has worked with the Slide Mountain Vineyard for about 5 years, and has purchased vineyards near it.
