Review:
The 08 is has aromas of dark blue and black fruit mingled with honey, cloves, tea leaves and a hint of nutmeg. The palate is a mixture of black cherry with warm baking spices.
2007 Vintage Tasting Notes
Ripe and full-bodied, this wine exudes both comfort and sophistication. Indulgent yet refined, the wine opens up with a bouquet filled with aromas of plum, blackberry, anise, leather and vanilla. Fol- lowing are rich, spiced flavors, such as black- berry, black cherry, cocoa, orange peel, black pepper, currant, and earth. As always, the Shea drinks beautifully in its youth, but merits time to mature in the bottle. - the winery
Shea Vineyard's terroir produces a floral, very forward Pinot, offering early accessibility for a single vineyard wine, yet with significant aging capability. The grapes are typically thinned at veraison to nearly half the normal yield, in order to produce the most concentrated flavors in the fruit. The soil type is Willakenzie, and the Pinot Noir clones are 114, 667, 777, Pommard and Wadenswil.
