Detailed Info, Previous Vintage Notes, Reviews:

Fruit is sourced from two of the most highly-respected and proven vineyards of the Walla Walla Valley appellation: Pepper Bridge Vineyards and Seven Hills Vineyards. Grapes are hand-selected from vines trained on a split-canopy (Smart-Dyson) trellis and irrigated with a state-of-the-art computerized system which automatically adjusts for temperature, humidity, and wind from both vineyards. Ellingford Silt Loam from Seven Hills Vineyard and Walla Walla Silt Loam from Pepper Bridge Vineyards-both geologically young, wind-blown glacial Loess soils that are chock full of minerals-combined with the perfect grape-growing climate contribute to the grapes' exceptional flavors.

Patit Creek Cellars only accepts hand-picked fruit, which is also sorted by hand once it is brought into the winery. After completion of fermentation, the wines generally age for approximately 18 months in a combination of new & neutral, French, Hungarian & American barrels, but they also age for about a year longer in bottle prior to release-a practice that is not common in Washington winemaking. This deliberate lengthening of the aging period ensures a wine that is immediately drinkable upon release.
