The Estate bottling replaces Dussin. Ripe plums, vanilla and blackberry fruit flirts with jam in this intense, focused pinot that is seemingly big and full, yet also graceful and refined, ending with a touch of rose petal, lavender and black tea.

2010 vintage notes:

Tanzer 92 points - Vivid ruby-red. An exotically perfumed bouquet evokes candied cherry and black raspberry, with musky herb and dried rose nuances. Sappy, penetrating red and dark berry flavors show very good intensity and pick up subtle cola and sassafras qualities with air. Finishes smoky and very long, with resonating spiciness and lingering mocha and cola notes. - J.R.

Penner-Ash Wine Cellars Dussin Vineyard 2010 has aromas of rose petals, black cherries and black currants.

2009 Vintage Tasting Notes

2009 Wine Advocate - 92 points - The 2009 Pinot Noir Dussin Vineyard is the Penner-Ash estate property that surrounds the winery and was planted in 1993. It is more structured than the preceding wines, has an extra layer of savory fruit, plenty of spice notes, and floral aromas. This impeccably balanced effort is likely to evolve for 1-2 years and will drink nicely through 2019. - Jay Miller

2009 Wine Spectator - 92 points - Focused, seamless and generous with its dark berry, tar and floral flavors, gliding easily through refined tannins into the long finish. This has depth and presence. Drink now through 2019.H.S.

2008 Vintage Tasting Notes

2008 Wine Advocate - 93 points - The 2008 Pinot Noir Estate Dussin Vineyard underwent a native fermentation with elevage in 40% new oak. Dark ruby in color, this exceptionally perfumed Pinot displays an aromatic array of wood smoke, toast, floral notes, black cherry, and black raspberry. This leads to an elegantly styled, spicy, focused, impeccably balanced wine with excellent volume, intensity of flavor, and a lengthy, seamless finish. It merits a minimum of 3-4 years of cellaring. - Jay Miller

2008 Wine Spectator - 92 points - This is broad and ripe, featuring dark berry and smoky, minerally flavors that compete for attention on a light, airy frame. Firm tannins mark this for the cellar, but the generosity of flavor should carry it well. Best from 2012 through 2018. 535 cases made." - H.S.

2007 Vintage Tasting Notes

2007 Wine Spectator - 90 points - Supple, with light peppery tannins around a lively core of plum and currant fruit, lingering on the expressive, delicate finish. Drink now through 2013. 830 cases made. - H.S.

New York Times
"Top Oregon Pinot noirs" 9-2-09

"Big and complex with flavors of ripe, sweet fruit and lots of oak." - Eric Asimov

2007 Tanzer - 91 points - Bright red. Sexy aromas of cherry-cola and black raspberry, with bright mineral and floral notes adding complexity. Brisk and focused on the palate, offering strong, mineral-laced red and dark berry flavors and a slow-building floral quality. The finish echoes the red fruit and mineral notes and lingers with impressive clarity and length."

From the Penner-Ash Estate Vineyard. Aromas of dried rose petal, baked cherry pie and spice. Lush, textured palate with hints of sweet vanilla, blackberry and chocolate. Fine tannins move into a seamless, extended finish. 725 cases produced.
