Phelps Creek Chardonnay 09 Unoaked

So this is what pure Chardonnay tastes like!! Lovely nose shows green apple, melon and pear fruit with a deep bouquet. Dry bright, fresh and crisp on entry with apple/pear/citrus flavors followed by a hint of herbs and toast (from aging sur lies). Wonderful acid structure. Crisp enough for raw oysters with sauce mignonette, but with enough body to support grilled pancetta-wrapped prawns. - the winery

Clean, fresh with nary the touch of an oak barrel. Grown on the winery's Hood River Estate and fermented in stainless steel. The crisp citrus and tropical fruit flavors are complemented by great acid balance. Beautiful both as an aperitif and with light cuisine.
