Powers Muscat Canelli 06/07

$9.85 - Case price

One of the best priced Muscats available from the Pacific Northwest. Excellent value. Floral aromas, especially roses, mesh into a complex nose that includes ripe peach, nutmeg, and faint orange blossom. The flavors of peach, nectarine, and layered spices linger through the slightly sweet, crisp, lightly mineral finish.

Detailed Info, Previous Vintage Notes, Reviews:

From the winery: "2004 produced another nice, ripe vintage of Muscat Canelli from Mercer Ranch (73% of the total), and for the first time this blend includes organic fruit from our Estate Vineyard (27%). Muscat is one of the few varieties that is critical to hand harvest, and all of the fruit arrived in great shape. Quickly pressed, chilled, and settled, the clarified juice from each vineyard fermented separately . A specific yeast strain (VL1) for Muscat was used for fermentation, which was stopped at about 4% residual sugar, balancing the high natural acidity in both lots. It was blended and bottled in October 2004."
