Review:

Racine is Chris's high end label, and the wines are made from the best barrels of the vintage. He named the wine for "racine" the French word for root and for the Wisconsin town where this cheesehead grew up.

2008 has been described as Oregon's best vintage in a decade, and Chris's Racine 2008 benefits from his ability to take wonderful grapes and get the best out of them.

This is the richest, most intense and complex of the Roots wines. A light nose with lots of forest and herbal notes precedes huge flavors of intense blackberry, raspberry, and cherry, enhanced with silky hints of milk chocolate, vanilla, and currants.

The complex character of the wine is perfectly balanced by tannins that promise aging for 4-8 years. Drink now with decanting if you can't wait to try this beautiful Pinot.
