94 points Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Limelight is perfumed, complex and lively, with ample currants, plum, licorice, mint and crushed rock-like minerality, this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness, awesome freshness and sweet tannin that emerges on the finish. Nothing is out of place here, it’s perfectly balanced and has rock star length. Give it another handful of years in the cellar and enjoy it over the following decade or longer. When all is said and done, I wouldn’t be surprised to see this still going strong at age 20 or beyond."

The 2011 Living in the Limelight Petit Verdot is sourced from Dionysus Vineyard. It is so dark purple in color that it's almost black. Aromas include marionberry, mulberry, violet and dark chocolate. Flavors of huckleberry, marionberry, black cherry with hints of dark chocolate, espresso, vanilla, earth and tar. Impressive now but this wine will continue to evolve for 6 to 8 years. Cellar some and reap the rewards for your patience.

2009 Vintage Tasting Notes

Fire up the guitars and rip into this huge new Petit Verdot from Rasa. Give it time to breathe and you'll find massive blueberry and black cherry, shaded with caramel, lilac and incense. The finish has a little fanfare of allspice and white pepper. One of the rare Petit Verdot bottlings in Washington.

I can't help but get Rush's "Living in the Limelight" in my head every time I think of this wine. Considering it's one of the greatest rock songs of all time, that's a good thing. - Marcus

Kaboom! The Limelight blasts out of the bottle - it is HUGE.

80 cases produced, 90% Petit Verdot, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Winemaker Billo Naravane describes the name "this Petit Verdot is so compelling, we had to put it in the limelight."

This wine is a rarity: a Petit Verdot with finesse, power, and complexity. Blackberry, black plum, dark chocolate, with hints of vanilla and rose petal on the bouquet. Intense notes of blackberry and black cherry on palate, supported by tobacco, dark chocolate, earth, and tar notes. All of these flavors are beautifully focused and framed in substantial, yet silky tannins. The balance between medium-plus acidity, 15% alcohol, fruit extract, and tannins is superb. The finish lingers with pure blackberry and dark chocolate notes. No doubt many will prefer the fruity exuberance of this wine, but properly cellared this wine will gain further complexity as it ages. It will hit maturity in 6-8 years and will easily hold for another 5-7 years after that. - Billo Naravane
