2006 Vintage Tasting Notes
Sultry cassis, rose perfume, gentle molasses, secure tannins...secure wine. Blackberry, coffee, dark chocolate and a rich, velvety mouth feel. Pepper Bridge and Seven Hills Vineyard fruit. 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot,5% Cabernet Franc. - the winery
Wine Press NW says: "Unassuming Chuck Reininger is anything but quiet when it comes to making great wines. Lovely berry and oak notes meld with complex layers of flavors, beautiful structure and well-managed tannins. "This really sang in my mouth," one judge commented."
Wine Spectator says: "Chuck Reininger uses 9 percent Cabernet Franc and 7 percent Merlot to flesh out this elegant Cabernet. It's ripe, round and generous with its cedary blackberry and currant character, sliding in a smoky note or two. Tannins are subdued, and the flavors linger. Drink now through 2010.-H.S."
A very good buy- reminiscent of Leonetti or Quilceda Cabs but with a twist all Chuck's own- this winemaker has the knack to make stellar Cabs from Walla Walla fruit. A winery to watch.
