Retour Wine Company 2006 Pinot noir Tanzer 92 Points "Bright red. Seductively perfumed aromas of raspberry, cherry preserves, Asian spices and a hint of smoked meat. Lively red berry flavors are given depth and a refreshingly bitter edge by cherry skin and pit notes. Juicy, finely focused and pure, with excellent finishing clarity and lingering sweetness. I really like this graceful wine's subtle power and balance and suspect that it will reward at least another three or four years of patience."
The Retour Pinot noir 06 shows an initial perfume of English rose petals and fragrant lilacs, mingling with complexities of fresh roasted hazelnuts, tilled earth and forest floor. Aeration reveals evocative aromas of Asian spice, anise, local plums, blackberry blossoms and a hint of confection.
The palate of the 2006 Retour Pinot noir leads with just-plucked cherries and raspberries, lush black fruits and tangerine peel. The broad mouthfeel has impressive weight and texture and drapes easily over its eloquent structure. Fine tannins coalesce with underlying minerality, leading to a long and seductive finish.

Over time the wine is persistent in its evolution towards greater complexity. We highly recommend storing the wine at 55 degrees F. and suggest decanting for at least one hour prior to consuming.
